The Columbus Cottonmouths took on the Huntsville Havoc in the second round of the SPHL Playoffs. The first game was played at the Huntsville IcePlex instead of the Propst Arena due to scheduling issues for the Havoc.
The Cottonmouths took game one with a score of 1-0. Game two was played in Columbus the following night where the Cottonmouths swept the Havoc with a score 4-2.
The Pensacola Ice Flyers took on the Knoxville Ice Bears in the second round of playoffs. The Ice Bears came to Pensacola and took the game one win with a score of 2-0. Both teams headed back to Knoxville where the Ice Flyers were not going down without a fight. They fought hard and came out with a win of 3-1, forcing a game three. With both teams back in Pensacola, the puck dropped on Sunday night. Pensacola held the lead during the entire game. With a final score of 2-1.
The Ice Flyers are headed to the SPHL finals to face the Columbus Cottonmouths. What an exciting playoff race this is turning out to be!
