SIX PACKS ON ICE, Canadian Major Junior Edition: Regular Season Winding Down

With playoffs in just over a week, teams have been kicking their play into high gear. There is one playoff spot still up for grabs in the OHL, with the Plymouth Whalers just one point away from clinching it. In the WHL, five teams are competing for the final four spots, and there are four spots left in the QMJHL with six teams close to claiming them.

This weeks BMO Top 10 Rankings are as follows:

1. Kelowna Rockets: Kelowna holds the No. 1 ranking in the WHL with a commanding seven-point lead.

2. Guelph Storm: The Storm are ranked first in the OHL with only a three-point lead over their main competitor.

3. Portland Winterhawks: The Winterhawks are first in the U.S. Division, and second overall in the WHL.

4. Baie-Comeau Drakkar: First overall in the QMJHL, Drakkar leads the league by a narrow margin of two points.

5. London Knights: The Midwest Division in the OHL holds the top three seeds in the league with the London Knights just one point behind the Erie Otters.

6. Erie Otters: Second in the OHL only to the Guelph Storm, the Otters still have time to finish first in the league.

7. Blainville-Boisbriand Armada: Blainville-Boisbriand has already clinched its playoff spot, leading the TELUS West Division.

8. Victoria Royals: The Royals are third overall in the WHL, and second after Kelowna in the B.C. Division.

9. Rimouski Oceanic: Only two points away from leading the league, Rimouski looks to finish the regular season on top.

10. Calgary Hitmen: New to this week’s top 10 rankings, the Hitmen are tied at 97 points for the first place spot in the WHL’s Central Division.

The rankings have stayed consistent the past couple of weeks with the only addition this week being the Calgary Hitmen in the No. 10 spot. The Edmonton Oil Kings have dropped from the top 10 rankings after previously being listed at No. 7. The Halifax Mooseheads and the Oshawa Generals are just outside of the top teams in the league and shouldn’t be counted out just yet.

Who do you think the final top ten teams will be this season?
