NHL Video: Wednesday’s Best (and Worst) in the NHL

Just five games scheduled for Wednesday night but some amazing action taking place throughout the league, thus bringing us to the highlights of the night!

Best Camera Shattering Goal of the Night:

Tampa Bay vs. Toronto – Tyler Bozak had a wide open net to shoot at to put the Maple Leafs up by three in the second period. Not only did he score but he took out the goal cam as well.

Best Vintage Goal of the Night:

Dallas vs. Colorado – Jaromir Jagr has been in NHL for many years, and many times we’ve seen this exact play. With the puck he cuts across the middle of the ice and takes the shot for the goal.

See if you can remember the vintage Jagr move.

Best ‘Catch me if you can’ Goal of the Night:

Dallas vs. Colorado -When you give one of the best veteran players this much time and space he is going to make you pay. That is exactly what Ray Whitney did on Wednesday when he carried the puck all the way around the net before taking a wicked backhand shot and going top shelf on Semyon Varlamov.

Check out the pretty play.

Best ‘Now you see it, now you don’t’ Goal of the Night:

Dallas vs. Colorado – Since getting back into the line up Ryan O’Reilly has put his talents to use and Wednesday was no exception. After getting control of the puck in the neutral zone he skates towards the net and fires a shot past Kari Lehtonen.

Watch the quick shot by O’Reilly.

Best ‘If at first you don’t succeed’ Goal of the Night:

Dallas vs. Colorado -This is now the second consecutive game that Gabriel Landeskog has had a shorthanded goal. He jumped on a loose puck at the blue line and headed right to the net. He stayed with the play and after his first shot didn’t go in he was able to slip the rebound past Lehtonen.

Check out yet another nice play by Landeskog.

Best ‘Don’t worry guys, I got this’ Goal of the Night:

Chicago vs. Anaheim – The Blackhawks were already down 1-0 and on the PK when Jonathan Toews blocked a shot from the point and then raced to get possession first and have a breakaway on Jonas Hiller. With two defensemen closing in, it didn’t even phase him and he slips the puck past Hiller to tie the game at one.

Watch Toews get his team back in the game.

Biggest Hit of the Night:

Minnesota vs. Detroit – Niklas Kronwall certainly has patented this move. Coming in sideways and dropping the oncoming player like a bad habit. Charlie Coyle made the mistake of having his head down and Kronwall made him pay.

Check out this bomb of a hit by Kronwall on Coyle

Some great highlights from some great players. Come tell us what you thought of the highlights of the night
