NHL Video: Thursday’s Best (and Worst) in the NHL

Last night had a TON of highlights that are a must see so let’s get right into the best (and worst) of the night!

Best Fights of the Night:

Like the saves of the night there were just too many great fights to only show one, so here are BDB’s Top 3 fights of the night.

#3 Kevin Klein vs. Steve Pinizzotto

#2 Rich Clune vs. Dale Weise

#1 Andrew Shaw vs. Matt Calvert

Slickest Shootout Move:

Chicago vs. Columbus – When it comes to shootout moves there is one man that just surpasses everyone else, and that man is Patrick Kane. He was at it again Thursday when the Blackhawks and Blue Jackets were forced to a shootout. Even with fumbling the puck he still makes it look easy like only Patrick Kane could.

Watch and be amazed!

Best Team Effort Goal:

Florida vs. Boston – The Bruins second goal of the night was your classic team effort goal. Every single Bruin player on the ice touched the puck before it was put in the back of the net by Patrice Bergeron.

Check the games highlights to see the great teamwork play.

Sweetest Pass of the Night:

Carolina vs. Washington – Starting Washington’s come back Thursday night was a sweet play made by Aaron Volpatti and Joey Crabb. It was a bang-bang play that got started with Volpatti making a perfect pass and putting it right on Crabb’s stick for the easy tap in goal.

Watch Volpatti’s sweet passing skills and the great comeback by the Caps.

Best Sauce of the Night:

Chicago vs. Columbus – Once again Patrick Kane is tops in another category, this time it’s dishing sauce. No this doesn’t mean he’s taken up pizza making on the side, it means he continues to be one of the best in the league at making fantastic saucer passes.

See for yourself the kind of sauce Kane likes to dish as well as the rest of the games highlights

Best Hustle Play of the Night:

Florida vs. Boston – When your team is down a couple of goals this is exactly the type of effort you want to see from your players. While the Bruins were on the power play, Shawn Matthais races for the puck against Dougie Hamilton and after Hamilton goes down Matthais works for the puck and is able to slip it past Tuukka Rask to cut the lead to one.

Check out the great hustle by Matthais.

Best One Timer:

Nashville vs. Vancouver – The Canucks were already up 3-1 when Mason Raymond blasts home a one timer from the right circle extending the Canucks lead to three.

Watch this beauty of a one timer.

Best ‘We have you surrounded’ Goal of the Night:

Phoenix vs. St Louis – The Blues were able to roll to an easy 3-0 victory over the Coyotes giving Blues goalie Jake Allen his first career shutout. The other reason that the Blues coasted to a win was the two goals they got from Chris Stewart. This is the second game in a row that Stewart has put up two goals.

Check out this gem.

Best Snipe of the Night:

Colorado vs. Minnesota – Getting your first NHL goal is always a great memory for every NHL player, Josh Brodin now knows what that is like. The 19-year-old ripped a shot past Semyon Varlamov extending his teams lead and having one memorable first NHL goal.

Watch this beauty of a snipe.
