BABESDIGBOARDS: Extreme Halloween

Ain’t no party like an action sports Halloween party…

With a break in the big action sports events right now, there isn’t too much actual news to blog home about. This week was all about having fun. Due to Halloween falling on a Wednesday this year, just about every person in the country celebrated the holiday the weekend before. Action sports stars were no exception, stealing the show on sports social media.

One such awesome Halloween party went down at Bucky Lasek’s… Better known as “BooBQ” or “BowlBQ,” athletes including Bob Burnquist, PLG, Tom Schaar and others were all in attendance for the backyard bowl jam.

This video, courtesy of Dylan Pfohl, gives us a brief glimpse into the action:

Here are some of the best costumes of the weekend:

Pro skaters, Pierre-Luc Gagnon, Danny Mayer, and Rob Loriface.

Being that they are athletes, of course no bowl session is complete without a little competition. We can safely say though that this was probably a little less stress than Dew Tour or the X-games.

And don’t think that the skateboarders were the only ones having fun this weekend… The BMXers got in the Halloween spirit too!

In my opinion though, if there was a best costume award for the weekend, it would have to go out to professional skateboarder, Neal Hendrix.

Known for his tradition of dressing up as some of his best buddies on Halloween like Shaun White…

Hendrix left us wondering which friend he was going to show up as this year… Well we got our answer! This year Neal Hendrix decided to throw a shoutout to fellow skater Christian Hosoi.

It is always refreshing to see someone think out of the box from the traditional costumes of the year. I think we can all agree that Hendrix has no problem doing just that. Awesome job.

Looking ahead…

  • BMX riders are invading Paris. RedBull is known for hosting some pretty rad competitions, and RedBull Skyline is no exception. As 24 of the top BMX riders compete in front of over 5000 fans, this competition will definitely prove to be quite the spectacle.
  • Break out the snow gear and grab your lift tickets! Sandy’s damage in New Jersey, New York, and the generally along the East Coast definitely took center stage this past week. However, it should be noted that Sandy didn’t just bring downed trees and flooding. This storm also brought a heavy load of snow. With the snow still falling, several Appalachian ski resorts are opening early. If you’re a skier like me, this brings very good news.
  • Is it too early to think about January? I know it’s over a month away, but the anticipation of the Winter Dew Tour stop has me pumped! Known for showcasing some of the biggest riders in the business, how can anybody not be excited for the snow to fall?
