Hi, what are you looking for?

NHL

There were some must see moments from the ten games played on Sunday come check out the best and worst of the day!

Buzzer Beater Moment of the Night:

San Jose vs. Colorado – The Sharks had battled back to tie the score late in the third period to force an overtime. With just 2 seconds left P.A. Parenteau took a shot from the point that kicked right to Matt Duchene who with less than a second on the clock put in the rebound giving Colorado the 3-2 victory.

Watch Duchene beat the clock!

Biggest “Oh No He Didn’t” Play of the Night:

Montreal vs. Florida – No player ever wants to accidentally put a goal in his own net, but that is exactly what Francis Bouillon did against the Panthers on Sunday. After blocking a shot he went to clear the puck out of the front of the net but instead shot it right past his goalie Peter Budaj.

Check out the big oops moment!

Shootout Move of the Night:

Detroit vs. Columbus – In the fifth meeting of the season between these two teams Columbus has had Detroit’s number. The game went into overtime and then a shootout and it was this play of the day that won the game for the Blue Jackets. First it was the overtime winner in their last game and now its this shootout winner for Matt Calvert, the hottest player for the Blue Jackets right now.

Watch Calvert’s sweet moves!

Save of the Night:

Buffalo vs. Philadelphia – Late in the third period, with the Flyers up by one, Brayden Schenn made the save of the game. Schenn, the Philly forward not goalie, cleared the puck out of the crease just as it looked to be crossing over the goal line after sneaking through goalie Ilya Bryzgalov. It ended up being the biggest save of the game as the Flyers went on to win just 3-2.

Find out what Schenn thought of the play.

Biggest Surprise of the Week:

Columbus Blue Jackets – For the best couple seasons the Blue Jackets have been at the bottom of the league never really being able to string together any wins or beat the top teams of the league. Over the past week or so that has dramatically changed. With the 3-2 win over the Red Wings Sunday, Columbus has now won five games in a row. Those five wins have come against Vancouver, Colorado, Edmonton and Detroit (twice). The Blue Jackets still sit at the bottom of the division but are only two points behind the Predators and four points behind the Blues. Will this be the year they make the playoffs, no its not, but it’s nice to see them string together a couple of wins and finally make it out of the bottom of the barrel.

Biggest Disappointment Player:

Alex Ovechkin – This season certainly has not been up to par for superstar Alex Ovechkin, and Sunday’s game against the Rangers did not get any better. Ovechkin was called for two penalties within seconds of each other that lead to a goal and then an additional power play for New York. It would result in the Capitals loosing their second straight game and causing Ovechkin to continue to be under fire again for his recent play.

Listen to some recent comments by Mike Milbury on the play of Alex Ovechkin.
