The Montreal Alouettes are bringing back Chip Cox for a 12th season, signing the 2013 Most Outstanding Defensive Player to a one-year deal.
“Chip is one of our leaders on defence,” Alouettes’ general manager Kavis Reed said in an official press release. “Over the years, he’s won individual awards all while being part of championship teams. That experience is a great asset for our team. We know that Chip will be a true mentor for younger players.”
Cox, 34, had 67 tackles over 15 games last season for Montreal.
Cox, who has spent his entire career in Montreal, has amassed 848 tackles, 27 sacks, and 23 interceptions in 212 career CFL regular season games.
