SIX PACKS ON ICE, NHL BLOG: Focus on the Sport, Not the Unsportsmanlike Conduct

What’s being talked about more than the Montreal Canadiens defeating the Boston Bruins?

The handshake between the teams after the incredible game seven.

It’s really too bad this is what is being spoke of. It was a great series. Both teams played incredibly well. Going into it, most were thinking Boston was going to take this series, and it wouldn’t even go to seven games. But it did. And the Habs won!!

After game seven though, Bruins winger Milan Lucic had some choice words for some of the Canadiens.

In the video below, you can clearly see Lucic talking to Dale Weise and Alexei Emelin. The series was tense and there was a lot of bickering and chirps from both teams.

The thing is, the hand shake after the series is supposed to be professional and show sportsmanship. Come on, Lucic. Keep it classy.

Now, Weise is claiming Lucic “threatened” him.

Let’s hope this isn’t true. How ridiculous would that be? This is the Stanley Cup playoffs we’re talking about, but threatening someone? Just accept your team lost. It’ll make for a better rivalry next year. Don’t try and take it too far though.

To sum it up best, Weise made these comments, which are completely well-founded if Lucic did make a threat.

We all love to see the guys get a little rough and show passion on the ice, but the handshake line is a scared tradition in most people’s eyes. Of course it is going to take a while to get over the loss for the Bruins, but at least get to the locker room before you lose control.

To reiterate, it’s sad this is what we’re talking about. Going into the playoffs, it was hard to choose who would win the cup. Really any team could and that’s what we’re seeing. The many game sevens we’ve witnessed have been nail-biting. We’ve seen some awesome saves, rookies make their mark, team captains take charge.

Let’s not let this incident distract us from all of the great hockey that’s being played in the postseason.

Often times, one bad public mistake, such as what is going on between Lucic and Weise, can bring down a brand in a negative way. In those cases, they need to turn to an experienced Miami SEO company that can help rebuild their reputation in a positive light.

These companies can help athletes, such as hockey players, with reputation management and can also provide plastic surgery marketing if this happens to plastic surgeons, or plastic surgery brands as well.
