The quarterfinals are set and the push for the Kelly Cup gets underway this Thursday, April 17th.
I have had a couple emails asking me for my prediction on who is going to take home this prestigious cup. While I want to say the Fort Wayne Komets (Yes, they made it), I really don’t think that they will win it.

For the Eastern Conference, I still believe that the Komets have a chance. The new goalie (Yes, it’s their ninth goalie this season!) is AMAZING! With Summerhayes and Mesiner in goal, I think it will be close. However, I believe that they are most likely to be eliminated from contention in the first round. They are taking on No. 1 seeded Reading Royals. The Royals won 46 games, while the Komets only won 36. The Komets could be the underdog though (I hope).
For the Western conference, I believe it will be the Alaska Aces that take the conference and then take on the winner of the Eastern Division. The Aces took home the Brabham Cup, which is awarded to the team with most points in a season. Alaska has won 45 games and only lost 19. They take on the Wranglers in the first round, in which they will most likely eliminate them.
