LAWS ON THE COURT: It’s that Time of Year – Basketball Season Is Here

That’s right, it’s basketball season, folks! For those of you who work in the what I refer to as the “real world” with “real jobs” – it just became Fall last weekend and you’re having autumnal thoughts of pumpkins, orbs and leaves falling; however, for this girl who works in college sports, it’s been Fall since mid-August and it’s almost Winter, as in, it’s almost basketball season! For NCAA Division I basketball teams all around the country, practice starts a little earlier this year due to a rule change last spring moving practice up another two weeks (and thus six weeks before a team’s first game). So, get excited, basketball season just got a little longer! Let’s retrace the steps of some of basketball’s biggest stories over the last few weeks!

It’s Basketball Season – Let the Trash Talking Begin: D Wade vs. KD

Let’s go over this. Sports Illustrated puts together a list of the top 100 players for the upcoming NBA season and FINALLY released the top 10. One of my faves, Kevin Durant, gets interviewed by CineSport’s Noah Coslov and says that Dwyane Wade should not be in the top 10 and James Harden should. Then, social media exploded. Okay, maybe not exploded, but it was kind of a big deal. Wade retorted via his Instagram account. Check the story out here courtesy of LA Times writer Chuck Schilken. It’s good stuff. And it just gets me hyped for the start of the NBA season! Just remember, D Wade may not be the best player in the league, and he may not even be in the top 10, but he is No. 1 in this babely blogger’s fashion heart!

ICYMI: The King Now Has A Queen

As numerous outlets reported, LeBron James got hitched to his high school sweetheart. Every outlet from HollywoodLife.com to SLAMOnline.com covered the blessed event. The big question: will that extra weight on his left hand affect his game? Only time will tell!

Lam-Lam: Future in the NBA?

I hate to admit it but I am a huge fan of “bad television.” What I’m trying to say is, I’ve kept up with the Kardashians … for way too long. What that means is that I feel like I personally know Lamar Odom, or Lam-Lam as his wife Khloe calls him. So, all of his troubles recently just make me sad. And it doesn’t look like things will get better and Lam-Lam may be taking his talents east, as in, the Far East. Media sources seem to be taking the word of HollywoodLife.com (wow, two references in one post!) and reporting this story based on an exclusive source to the celebrity / media site.
