Last season, though it was short, was filled with 22 wins and 43 losses. Not something new for our beloved Canadian team. This season shouldn’t even compare to last. I know what you’re thinking — and yes I know what I’m talking about.
The newest additions: Kyle Lowry, Landry Fields, Jonas Valanciunas, Alan Anderson, John Lucas and draft picks Terrance Ross, and Quincy Acy, have shocked fans this preseason, with a 4-0 home record.
Kyle Lowry, Landry Fields, Jonas Valanciunas have joined Andrea Bargnani and DeMar DeRozan on the front lines. Kyle Lowry has demonstrated his strengths in the past 2 games, which shows potential for the six-foot guard. Throwing up five 3-pointers against the Knicks in Montreal along with 4 rebounds and 5 assists. Being fast, skilled and durable is a great addition to the new line up.
Landry Fields, who is coming off of a season with Knicks, was able to say hi to his old teammates on Friday when they faced off against the New Yorkers. He managed to come up with six points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists.
Jonas Valanciunas was able to attain 4 points and 10 rebounds. He was benched for most of the game due to foul trouble, ending in a result of 5.
With these new additions, the raptors actually look like a playoff team. They look like they could go far, but everyone has to wonder whether or not Bargnani will be healthy all season long — he did leave Wednesday’s game in the 3rd quarter after he was kicked in the calf (that boy sure has the weakest calves in the league!) Will Calderon get his starting position back? It’s unlikely. My bet is that we’ll be seeing a lot of Lowry, Fields, Valanciunas, DeRozan and Bargnani this season on your front lines, and perhaps they will make a movie about the impressive season in the end. Who knows? maybe Film Content Creators or even Indie Filmmakers will find something about this season to build a film or movie around.
