Kevin Anderson shocked the tennis world at Wimbledon when the hard-serving eighth-seed fought off a match point after losing the first two sets to cap off a stunning comeback upset of eight-time champion Roger Federer 2-6, 5-7, 7-5, 6-4, 13-11 on Wednesday.
Anderson also halted two of Federer’s impressive streaks that included 34 consecutive sets won at the All England Club and 85 service games here without being broken.
Novak Djokovic also advanced to the semifinals beating Kei Nishikori 6-3, 3-6, 6-2, 6-2, despite falling into a 2nd set slump.
Djokovic got into a heated argument with the umpire and at one time during the match yelled out “double standards” toward the umpire’s chair, and even slammed his racket into the ground out of frustration.
